Nadera Jackson, model, actress, and recording artist, was born on February 21st in Rollington Town, Kingston, Jamaica. She began performing at an early age and studied at The Reel Fact Film & Television Studio in Toronto.
In 2009, her first two singles, “Cheater’s Loss” and “Tit 4 Tat,” were instant hits; both songs topped the Canadian Reggae Charts and stayed at the number one position for eight consecutive weeks. They also climbed charts in South Florida, New York, and on Hype TV in Jamaica.
Her music is empowering in its approach and speaks out on issues some women experience. This can be heard in some of her singles, such as “Yuh 2 Lie” and “Cheater’s Loss,” which address infidelity; while “C.E.O” and “Rich Bi$h Energy” are anthems for independent women.
Nadera graced the stage alongside several international reggae and dancehall acts, including Beres Hammond, Nesbeth, and Popcaan, to immense acclaim. In 2010, she received her first award, and in 2011, she won “Best New Female DJ” at the Canadian Reggae Music Achievements Awards.
In 2013, Phylani Music released her debut album titled “Nadera”. She then toured Europe in 2014 to rave reviews and was in Jamaica for 5 weeks performing and promoting her latest EP “Party All Night”.
Nadera returned to the dancehall scene after a long hiatus away from the music to attend university. Her studies are in psychology with a minor in science. She explained that music is her passion. However, she also emphasized the importance of having a full education. She now goes by the moniker SassyDiva. SassyDiva returned to the music scene with songs like Jiggle Jiggle, C.E.O., and Yuh 2 Lie. These songs showcased her new sound and raw talent. Her recent singles are evidence that SassyDiva is a force to be reckoned with; she’s exuberant in her performance and her lyrical delivery captivates her audience.
